Flying High...

So I was off to AZ. First flight was good. Second flight looked to be on track. I ended up with a seat in the very back of a smaller plane and learned my seat buddies were to be 2 ladies with a small child, probably around age three. As her mom and aunt attempted to strap in the car seat and situate items, I spoke with the three-year-old about her day. She kept repeating something about the plane until I figured out she was telling me we were flying on a "daddy" plane. I went on the learn that some planes are baby planes, but we were on a big, "daddy" plane. Nothing to fear on this trip apparently with a big, "daddy" plane taking us to Tucson. Needless to say, it wasn't the biggest, "daddy" plane I'd been on, but we did make it to our destination safely. And it was well worth it!
Has anyone else been a daddy plane before?

3 & a half Edu-mi-cation

Kenzie hopped up on the over-sized chair flashing big, blue eyes and tilting her head to the right. "Yes," she explained, "preschool was cancelled."
"Well, it's nice to see you hanging out with mommy today. Was it cancelled because of the fog?"
"Yes," she quipped, with an authoritative look that suggested I must be silly to think it was for any other reason.
"Let's hope the clouds go away tomorrow so you can go back soon," I responded.
Turning her head to shoot me another look with a wide smile, she stated,"It's not clouds. It's fog."
"Oh," I said, trying to hold back a grin while anticipating a wonderful explanation was about to be forthcoming. "Clouds and fog aren't the same?"
"No!" was the resounding response with undertones of "duh, even I know that and I'm three."
"I think you will really enjoy science class one day."
Kenzie, with a puzzled look, glanced back at me perhaps wondering how science class would be of any help to her. She already attends preschool, the fount of all knowledge.
"Yes, science class should be really fun," I said. "You'll get to learn all about clouds and fog and other stuff."
Legs bopping and hands firmly on the sides of the armrests, Kenzie didn't even bother to reply. I can only guess she was thinking, "Science class. I don't need that! I'm 3 and a half. I know that clouds and fog are not the same. This silly lady needs science class."
Her mother and I exchanged quick smiles before Kenzie said good-bye and was off to travel in the fog, not to be confused with clouds as they are two very different things!

Missing the Magic

Yes that is correct. You are currently viewing a picture of my garbage disposal. "Why?" you ask. Well, I would like to share a wonderful thing that I learned which may benefit the masses of home owners and future home owners of the world. Several weeks ago, Jonell and I experienced the misfortune of the beloved disposal's unexpected death...or so we thought. Unfortunately, this was not a mere Christ-like resurrection of the disposal in 3 days, but rather a series of "why did it stop?", "what could be wrong?", and "how can we fix it?" questions. After many plunges of the backing up water and trips to get liquid unclogging materials, it seemed the disposal was only to be remedied with the help of a trained professional. But wait!!!! It was not to be!!!! Thanks to Dave, wonder worker in the world of disposals, he educated Jonell, and subsequently me, on the magic of the little red button. Yes, that is correct. Underneath the large black cylinder lies the magic. Magic that undoes the effects of death! Magic that unleashes the power of the machine! Magic that makes drainage a possibility once more free from the charges of professional fixers!!! So if you need a little magic in your life sometime, I'd encourage you to try the little red button and enjoy happy drainage once more.

La Fiesta Del Lance

Lance's La Fiesta was a huge success. Career classers met Youth Groupers at The Rockin Refuge. (And literally it was rockin' with the dining room light shaking from apparent wrestling matches upstairs.) Thank you to all who came and supported lil bro. He enjoyed his gifts ranging from Buffalo Wild Wings gift certificates to special paints for his Warhammers to layers upon layers of garbage bags covering his ultimate dream gift.....My Little Ponies!
